Oakhurst Recreation Center

The City of Decatur purchased the property at 450 East Lake Dr., formerly known as the Samuel L. Jones Boys and Girls Club in 2020. The addition of this facility means even more space and opportunities to offer our expanding list of programs to the residents of Decatur. Having a recreation center in the heart of the Oakhurst neighborhood adds to the Parks & Recreation Department's ability to create fun and engaging ways to meet our residents' health and wellness needs. We are also excited to expand our offerings to serve the entire family. The building features a gym, indoor pool, dance studio spaces, meeting rooms, a full-service kitchen, and a large multipurpose room. Oakhurst Recreation Center sits just west of Oakhurst Park, with the Oakhurst Dog Park right next door. It's a vibrant spot, whether you're participating in our diverse classes, swimming, or in need of a facility for a special occasion.
