After-School Program Overview Grades K-5

Fitness, fun, enrichment, technology, food projects, friends, social emotional learning and much more are all offered to K-5th grade children in the city's seven after-school programs. Animal Crackers (K-2nd) and Whiz Kids (3rd-5th) are offered in partnership with City Schools of Decatur.

Animal Crackers

Animal Crackers offers age-appropriate, enriching programming to kindergarten through 2nd grade students in five locations: Clairemont, Glennwood, Oakhurst, Westchester and Winnona Park elementary schools.
Hours: 2:50 - 6:15 pm M-F (school days)
Cost: $395/session + $25 for non-residents per session;
$90/day part-time enrollment, $100/day non-residents (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays)
$100/day part-time enrollment, $110/day non-residents (Wednesdays)
 

Whiz Kids

Whiz Kids at the Fifth Avenue Upper Elementary School and Talley Street Upper Elementary School includes lots of child-driven activities. Our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders are involved in guiding and planning various elements of the program themselves.
Hours: 2:15 - 6:15 pm M-F (school days)
Cost: $395/session + $25 for non-residents per session;
$90/day part-time enrollment, $100/day non-residents (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays)
$100/day part-time enrollment, $110/day non-residents (Wednesdays)
