Open Gym at Decatur Recreation Center
Welcome to the Open Gym Activities page at Decatur Recreation Center! Here, you'll find a list of the exciting and unstructured activities available for students, families, and community members. Open Gym offers a versatile and dynamic space where you can unleash your competitive spirit with pick-up games of basketball, volleyball, and more. It's the perfect opportunity to engage in friendly matches, improve your skills, and have a blast with your neighbors. Whether you're shooting hoops or spiking volleyballs, open gym provides the ideal environment to enjoy the sports you love in a fun and casual setting. Our exciting Open Gym activities are available for $5 for City of Decatur residents and $10 for non-residents. For those who can't get enough of the action, we are thrilled to offer Open Gym Memberships for just $25 a month ($50 a month for non-residents), providing unlimited access to all our Open Gym activities across our three recreation centers. Family and Youth Open Gym are free to the community!
Adult Basketball
Held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-5 p.m.
Family Open Gym
Held Saturdays from 1-3:30 p.m.
Table Tennis
Participate in a sport you can play for a lifetime at the Decatur Recreation Center. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Open gym held on Thursdays, 6:45-10 p.m. and Sundays, 9:30 a.m.-1:45 p.m.
Youth Open Gym
Held Monday-Friday from 3:30-5 p.m. during the school year.
Volleyball
Drop in and play in our recreational league, started by three ringleaders who know the net and are ready to teach and play. We have two nets set up on Sundays and staff onsite to manage the flow. Sundays from 6-9 p.m.
Explore the various open gym activities also available at Oakhurst Recreation Center (ORC) and Ebster Recreation Center (ERC). Join us for fun and engaging programs suitable for all ages and interests. Whether you're looking to shoot some hoops, practice your table tennis skills, or participate in other exciting activities, ORC, ERC and DRC have something for everyone.
