Welcome to our Couch to 5K program, your personalized pathway to becoming a confident and capable runner. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to rekindle your passion for running, this program is designed to guide you from the couch to crossing the finish line of a 5K race.

Our structured program takes you through a gradual progression, ensuring that you build strength, endurance, and confidence step by step. We understand that starting a running journey can be intimidating, which is why our program focuses on making the process enjoyable and achievable.

How the Program Works:

Ease into Running:
Our program begins with a mix of walking and jogging intervals, allowing your body to adapt gradually. With each session, the running intervals become longer while the walking breaks become shorter.

Progressive Challenge:
As the weeks go by, you'll notice your stamina improving. The program incrementally increases the running duration, helping you build cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength.

Community Support:
You won't be alone on this journey. Connect with fellow participants, share your progress, and celebrate milestones together. Our supportive community will keep you motivated and accountable.

Structured Sessions:
The C25K program encompasses three running days per week. Join us at the Decatur Recreation Center on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. for group runs, with the third run completed individually. Over eight weeks, we'll gradually ramp up our runs. The next session starts on March 11, 2024. Email Sana Cuffey to sign up.
