Pavilion Information
Glenlake Park
Glenlake offers one large pavilion and one small pavilion available for rent.
The large pavilion includes grills, trash cans, electrical outlets (available with optional electricity fee), and eight 8-foot picnic tables. Maximum capacity is 75 people.
The small pavilion includes two 8-foot picnic tables and has a maximum capacity of under 20 people.
Park amenities include a playground, walking trail, basketball court, open green space, swimming pool (admission fee required), and tennis courts (court rental fee required). Restrooms are located behind the Glenlake Tennis Center.
Parking is limited. Parking options include Glenlake Park, Norris Street, Church Street, and Glenlake Cemetery. Carpooling is encouraged, especially during the summer when the pool is open.
McKoy Park
The McKoy pavilion includes grills, trash cans, restrooms, electrical outlets (available with optional electricity fee), and six 8-foot picnic tables. Maximum capacity is 60 people.
Park amenities include a playground, skate park, open green space, baseball field (field rental required), and swimming pool (admission fee required).
Parking is limited. McKoy has a small lower parking lot off McKoy Street and a small upper parking lot on Adams Street. Carpooling is encouraged, especially during the summer when the pool is open.
Oakhurst Park
The Oakhurst pavilion includes grills, trash cans, restrooms, electrical outlets (available with optional electricity fee), and six 8-foot picnic tables. Maximum capacity is 60 people.
Park amenities include a playground, basketball court, open green space, softball fields (field rental required), and tennis courts (court rental fee required).
Parking is limited. Oakhurst has a parking lot on Feld Avenue and a small parking area on Third Avenue. Carpooling is encouraged, especially on weekends during tennis league play.
Rental Procedures
To reserve a pavilion, call the Decatur Recreation Center at 404-377-0494 to check availability. Reservation dates may be held for up to seven days.
Within the seven-day hold period, reservations must be completed in person at the Decatur Recreation Center with full payment. Accepted payment methods include cash, check (name and address must match driver’s license), Visa, and Mastercard.
Reservations are not accepted less than seven days before the rental date.
Residents must provide proof of residency in the form of:
- Picture ID
- Closing statement, lease agreement, or current utility bill with a City of Decatur address
Rentals may not be completed in the name of a property owner who is not present to sign the contract.

Rules and Policies
- Rental groups may only occupy the pavilion during their reserved time.
- Set-up and clean-up time must be included within the reservation period.
- Please leave the area clean for the next group. Trash receptacles are provided.
- All posted park rules and City ordinances must be followed.
- Alcoholic beverages and glass containers are prohibited in City parks.
- Parking on grass or outside designated parking areas is prohibited.
- Personal grills and fryers are not allowed.
- Amplified music and PA systems are prohibited.
- Animals with hooves are not allowed on City property.
- Decorations and signage must be removed at the end of the event.
- Violations of park rules may result in cancellation of the event without refund and additional fees.
Refund Policy
Rental fees are non-refundable and non-transferable unless the rental is canceled by the City of Decatur or Decatur Parks & Recreation.
Inclement Weather
In the event of heavy rain, lightning, snow, or temperatures below 32 degrees at the time of the event, the responsible party must contact Glenlake Tennis Center to reschedule. Rescheduled rentals must occur within the same calendar year and are subject to availability. Refunds will not be issued due to weather.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is field space included in my rental?
No. Field rentals require a separate reservation and fee.
What if rain is in the forecast?
Reservations cannot be canceled or moved due to forecasted weather. If inclement weather occurs at the time of the event, rentals may be rescheduled within the same calendar year, subject to availability.
Is set-up and clean-up time included outside of my reservation?
No. Set-up and clean-up time must be included within your reserved rental time.
