Glenlake Tennis Court Resurfacing
The City of Decatur is in the process of executing the construction contract for the Glenlake Tennis Courts Resurfacing Project. The project will address the underlying subgrade and drainage issues identified during the recent geotechnical investigation and includes a full reconstruction and resurfacing of the existing tennis courts, drainage improvements, fencing repairs, and updated court accessories.
A Public Information Meeting was held on February 25, 2026, at the Decatur Recreation Center, where City staff presented the geotechnical findings, outlined the proposed repairs, and discussed what the Glenlake tennis community can expect during construction.
Construction is anticipated to begin later this summer 2026 and is expected to take approximately three to four months, weather permitting. Additional updates, including anticipated construction timelines and court closures, will be shared as the project progresses.

The project will deliver the improvements previously shared with the community, including a new restroom facility, a renovated pavilion, upgraded basketball courts, a new playground, skate features, accessibility enhancements, improved lighting, sidewalks, landscaping, and stormwater infrastructure. Together, these improvements will create a safer, more accessible, and engaging outdoor space while expanding recreational opportunities for teens and the community.
