Out of School Time
Welcome to Decatur's Out of School Time (OST) program, where we provide enriching and engaging programming for grades K-5th during out-of-school hours. Summer camp programs serve children rising into K-6th grades during the summer months. Our mission is to empower children to become responsible, healthy, and engaged members of the community through high-quality out-of-school time experiences.
During the school year, OST operates seven afterschool sites, offering a safe and supportive environment where children can explore new interests, build 21st-century skills, and make healthy choices. Our afterschool programs are carefully designed to meet national standards in all aspects, including technology skills and 21st-century learning, ensuring a well-rounded experience for every participant. We are proud to share that six of our afterschool programs are accredited with the Council On Accreditation (COA), and we are actively working towards accreditation for Talley Street Whiz Kids. Project REAL was one of the first programs in the state of Georgia to be accredited through COA in 2010.
In addition to our afterschool programs, we offer "All Day Camp" options during school breaks, providing an engaging and fun-filled environment for children to make the most of their free time. As summer rolls around, our OST summer camp programs take center stage, promoting the development of the whole child with a special emphasis on social-emotional learning. Campers forge meaningful relationships with their peers and caring adults while participating in a diverse array of activities that ignite their curiosity and creativity.
At OST, we envision becoming a leader in quality out-of-school time programming for children and youth in our community.
