The tour will cover approximately 1 mile of hiking through the woods, over rough terrain, to view the five beaver dams that make up the Legacy Park beaver complex. These dams create rich wetland, pond, and stream habitats, supporting diverse aquatic, terrestrial, and avian species. We’ll also observe forest restoration efforts, including the removal of invasive plants and replanting with native trees and shrubs. Spots are limited, and registration is required to attend the tour. While beavers are fascinating animals that can sometimes be active during the day, they are primarily crepuscular, and there is no guarantee of seeing a beaver on the tour.
