Taxi Permits

The City of Decatur requires that all persons driving a vehicle for hire obtain a driver's permit - Chapter 102 of the City of Decatur Code of Ordinances.

Please complete all pages, then print the application. Bring your completed application and the following documents to the Decatur Police Department to obtain your taxi permit:

• Valid Driver's License
• A copy of your driving history
• Taxi company affiliation on letterhead
• Proof of Insurance or Company Insurance Declaration
• Vehicle registration if operating a privately owned vehicle
