Community Liaison To The Police Department

The City of Decatur offers its services and programs to all members of the community regardless of their race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, sexual preference, gender identity or expression, or political affiliation. In conjunction with its “Better Together Community Action Plan for Equity, Inclusion and Engagement,” the City Commission has designated the City of Decatur as a “Welcoming City” and a “Compassionate City.”  The City is committed to cultivating a just, welcoming, inclusive, equitable and compassionate community.

In order to keep lines of communication open and to be accessible, Billy Woodruff, Police Captain –has been designated as the liaison for the Police Department on issues of concern to community members, including but not limited to those from the LGBTQ community, those with disabilities, or those who did not begin their lives in the United States.
