Police Department Open Records Request

The Decatur Police Department responds to Open Records Requests in accordance with the Georgia Open Records Act (O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70, et seq.). A response will be provided within three business days, or you will be notified if more time is required.

The Police Department’s Custodian of Records is Chief Scott Richards.

The requester is not charged for the first fifteen minutes. Charges for time are not to exceed the salary of the lowest-paid full-time employee who, in the discretion of the custodian of the records, has the necessary skill and training to fulfill the request.
