Decatur DDA Offers Three Grant Programs for Local Businesses
Initiatives support exterior enhancements, interior improvements, and marketing needs
The Decatur Downtown Development Authority commercial grants program is an initiative to support small businesses and commercial property owners within the City of Decatur, Georgia with exterior enhancements, interior improvements, and marketing needs.
Applications for the commercial grants program are released twice annually and are available online only. The next application period will open Monday, August 10, 2026 at 8 a.m. and close on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 9 p.m.

1. Commercial Facade Improvement Grant (CFIG)
The CFIG program provides financial assistance for exterior renovations and repairs to commercial and mixed-use buildings. Grants are awarded in amounts between $2,500 and $10,000. Limited micro-grants are available between $250 and $1,000.
After a successful rollout in 2022, the CFIG has been replenished annually with $100,000 to support projects focused on enhancing and beautifying storefronts and awnings. Example projects include the façade mural at Siam Thai (123 Sycamore St.), the sign and awning for Float Atlanta (115 Clairemont Ave.), and the new door at Rebel Teahouse (225 E. Ponce de Leon Ave., Suite 110).
2. Commercial Buildout Improvement Grant (CBIG)
The CBIG program provides financial assistance for interior renovations and repairs to commercial and mixed-use buildings. Grants are awarded in amounts between $2,500 and $10,000.
The CBIG program is funded with $75,000 and aims to strengthen the interiors of commercial buildings in City of Decatur, such as retail shops, restaurants, bakeries, and breweries, by repairing and upgrading walls, floors, and ceilings, plumbing repair and improvement, grease trap replacement, or HVAC repairs and upgrades.
3. Marketing and Digital Connectivity Grant (MDCG)
The MDCG program provides financial assistance for small businesses to build and upgrade their marketing and online presence. Grants are awarded in amounts between $250 and $2,500.
The MDCG program is funded with $25,000 and aims to support digital marketing and sales for businesses within City of Decatur.
