As companies moved further away from the core principles that have long driven viability in the industry, they saw a need for an international logistics company that focused on relationships, ethics, old-school freight forwarding, a passion for taking care of the customer and respecting the environment.
Annie Caiola and Elizabeth Rose are both former “big law firm” lawyers who traded Downtown Atlanta for Downtown Decatur – a move that aligned with the growth of their practice and their vision for the firm, whose clients range from small businesses to international corporations. Decatur’s central location, impressive office space, family focus and walkability to acclaimed restaurants made it an ideal spot for Caiola & Rose to grow its practice.
As communities across the country call for the use of new technology to ensure accountability for law enforcement and citizens alike, Decatur-born Utility continues answering the bell as the world’s second-largest manufacturer and supplier of integrated software and hardware analytics for first responders.
With 75 employees and counting, Utility leans on the deep and diverse talent base Decatur provides to continue evolving and growing its capabilities.
When you imagine the ringing bells and flashing lights of slot machines, you probably picture Las Vegas, Atlantic City or another glitzy gambling hub. The last place you would probably think of is Decatur, but it happens to be the home of Gimme Games, one of the world’s leading producers of slot machines.

A worldwide organization that calls Decatur home, The Task Force for Global Health is an independent NGO founded in 1984 by former CDC Director Dr. Bill Foege. Initially focused on increasing global childhood vaccination rates, The Task Force now addresses large-scale health problems affecting hundreds of millions of people in more than 150 countries, all coordinated from its Decatur headquarters.
We are thrilled to announce WeWork’s expansion into downtown Decatur. The innovative coworking giant has leased all the office space, a total of 33,000 square feet, at 120 West Trinity Place, and will provide workspace for more than 450 WeWork members. Overall, Cousins Properties and AMLI Residential have done a fantastic job creating a plan for 120 West Trinity Place. In addition to the WeWork space, the 4.7-acre, mixed-use development will be home to 330 apartments and 19,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.
