Parkwoods Traffic Calming

Due to COVID-19, the City canceled the Parkwoods public information meeting. The traffic calming concepts are attached for public review (scroll to bottom of the page). To remain on our timeline, staff will be taking the recommendations to City Commission in April. Please send any support or opposition comments to Courtney Frisch at Courtney.frisch@decaturga.com to ensure comments are a part of the agenda item. The project includes:

Phase 1 (to be completed FY 19-20)

• Addition of speed tables on each of the corridors
• Center medians at 4 intersections

1. East Parkwood Road at West Ponce de Leon Avenue
2. West Parkwood Road at West Ponce de Leon Avenue
3. Upland Road at West Ponce de Leon Avenue
4. Side street at West Ponce de Leon Avenue (south of Parkwood Park)

Phase 2 (to be designed and estimated construction in FY 20-21)

Reconstruction of the East Lake Drive and E/W Parkwood Road intersection
