Season of Giving / Christmas Decatur

Season of giving - officer holding wrapped gift

A Season of Giving/Christmas Decatur is made possible through the generous spirit of neighbors helping neighbors. This generosity ensures that our community’s children and seniors in need experience the joy of the holidays with gifts matched to their wishes. The Season of Giving / Christmas Decatur has been in existence for more than 20 years and there continues to be a need to show compassion, especially during the holidays, for those households in need.

Give to Those in Need

Those who wish to donate have a couple of options to express their generosity. The value of gifts for each recipient has traditionally averaged $125 but any amount is greatly appreciated. Collectively, these generous contributions — from individuals, community groups, neighborhoods, and places of worship — have generated an average value of nearly $90,000 each year towards the mission.

Donors may opt to show their support with a tax-deductible donation. Convenient online donations can be made through Legacy Decatur, our non-profit fiscal sponsor, here. Be sure to select Season of Giving in the drop-down menu of the form. 100% of monetary donations will fund the purchase of gifts for children and/or seniors by designated volunteers.

Donors may also opt to purchase gifts from an individual wish list specific to a child or a senior citizen.  A convenient online form accessible here will gather the donor's information and enable designated Season of Giving volunteers to match the donor with a wish list.

For more information, please see the Season of Giving website or use the Contact Us online form.
