The Great Lakes subbasin was identified as a high-priority area for improvements in the 2020 Stormwater Master Plan. The City of Decatur will be implementing a mix of “grey” and “green” infrastructure solutions to address stormwater challenges such as localized flooding and erosion, improve water quality, and manage runoff flowing to the South Fork Peachtree Creek. The project area includes Champlain Street, Seneca Street, and Geneva Street.
On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, City staff and project consultants presented conceptual designs for the Champlain Stormwater Improvements project at a public meeting held at the Public Works Community Room. This milestone establishes key components and design direction for community review.
