Decatur Square Transformation Project Development – Phase 1
The first project for the Town Center 2.0 Plan is now in development. The initial phase of the Decatur Square Transformation project will focus on improvements that help meet the community goals identified to create a more vibrant and welcoming space.
City of Decatur staff and consultants met with community members Thursday, September, 19, 2024, about the project and input on specific design enhancements, including:
- Construction of a new performance stage and public restrooms
- Expansion of the Square into N. McDonough St. with greenspace and infrastructure
- Improvements to the existing plaza include landscaping, hardscape, play equipment, and furnishings.
