Rebel Teahouse is an artisan bubble tea café in downtown Decatur. Owner Christine Nguyen recognized a need for a place for the young people of Decatur to hang out. By creating a welcoming space for all, Rebel Teahouse has become a model of inclusivity.
The business has also placed an emphasis on accessibility. Recognizing the diverse needs of the community, they applied for and secured a façade grant from the City of Decatur to install an automatic door. This upgrade ensures that everyone, regardless of mobility, can enjoy the café and participate in the shared experience of savoring bubble tea. Additionally, they have a major partnership with the Global Village School and provide support to Families of Children Under Stress (FOCUS).
