Atlanta Bicycle Coalition: A non–profit advocacy group dedicated to promoting the bicycle as a healthful and eco-friendly means of transportation, protecting the rights of cyclists and advocating for safer and more convenient cycling conditions in the metro Atlanta area. Friends of Decatur Cemetery: In cooperation with the City, the group is exploring better utilization of the cemetery as a treasured greenspace within the urban setting. A renewed commitment to the history of Decatur as reflected in the lives of its citizens buried there will be announced soon. FROGS (Friends of Oakhurst Green Space): a grassroots environmental organization dedicated to the restoration of urban forests and the preservation and maintenance of neighborhood green spaces through the removal of invasive plants and the introduction and care of native plant species. FROGS volunteers meet about one Saturday a month to spend a few hours caring for the three green spaces in the Oakhurst neighborhood. Glenn Creek Nature Preserve: A two-acre parcel of sensitive watershed. Volunteers learn about native species of the Georgia Piedmont, forest and stream bank restoration, adopt-a-stream program, and greenspace management. The Wylde Center: teaches environmental awareness to diverse local students through hands-on gardening and outdoor education programs.
