To vote in city, county, state and federal elections, you must be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years old, mentally sound and not under conviction of a felony. Georgia does not require any length of residence as a condition to registering to vote. To register to vote or to transfer your registration from another GeoVotergia county, apply in person to the DeKalb County registrar’s office at 120 W. Trinity Pl.

Decatur City Commission elections are held in odd-number years, on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Polls are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Absentee ballots may be obtained from the DeKalb County voter registration office at 4380 Memorial Dr., Decatur, GA 30032 (404-298-4020).

The City of Decatur has elections in odd-numbered years. To qualify as a candidate in these elections you must meet the following requirements:

U.S. citizen
21 years of age
Registered voter in DeKalb County
One-year residence in voting district
