Community Fire Prevention Programs
The prevention program for the City is under the direction of the Operations Chief. The Fire Department enjoys its involvement with the schools, churches, recreation and civic organizations in educating the citizens of Decatur in fire safety and fire prevention.
During the summer months the Fire Department gives safety talks while attending neighborhood block parties, community events, day camps and various community functions.
Fire Prevention Week in early October provides opportunities for the firefighters to speak to our youth and to all citizens.
We lead a fire prevention and education component of the Decatur 101 and the Public Safety Academy programs.
The Fire Department welcomes any and every opportunity to show the citizens of Decatur the fire stations, equipment and apparatus.
Don't miss the fire prevention tips published in every issue of the Decatur Focus.
