Schedule Of Fees
All contractors and subcontractors doing work in the City of Decatur are required to have a current business license and state license issued for the principal business location in the state of Georgia.
At this time the city does not accept debit or credit cards. Applicants can pay with cash or a check made payable to "City of Decatur." Please bring exact change if paying by cash. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Building: Minimum permit fee: $50
Construction value of $1,000 or more to include any roofing, renovation or structural work: $50 for the first $1,000 of value, and $5 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof.
Plumbing: Minimum permit fee: $50
Fixture installation (new or replacement), plugged fixture opening, or water heater installation: $8 each
Building sewer, water service, water distribution installation, or gas piping installation: $50 each.
Installation of building sprinkler systems: $50 plus $0.50 for each sprinkler head.
Lawn sprinkler system: $50 each.
