Helping low income children and seniors enjoy the holidays for more than 20 years.

What is A Season of Giving/Christmas Decatur? It is caring neighbors and community members helping low-income children and senior citizens enjoy the holidays. Thanks to overwhelming support, gifts were provided to approximately 690 children and senior citizens last year.

Wish lists are available in October. Gifts are due on the first Saturday in December. Here are the ways you can help:

Request a wish list and buy gifts for a specific child or senior. Spend approximately $125-$150. You will receive a list of items with specific sizes and wishes. If a child needs a warm winter coat, please make that your first purchase. We also want every child to receive a book. If you purchase your book at Little Shop of Stories and mention why, the shop will donate 20 percent of your purchase to A Season of Giving/Christmas Decatur.

Send a check in any amount and one of our volunteers will do the shopping. Make the check payable to A Season of Giving/Christmas Decatur and mail it to PO Box 220, Decatur, GA 30031.

Team up with your neighbors, co-workers, club or other organization to purchase gifts.

Volunteer opportunities are available in the office on weekdays beginning in October. There will also be opportunities to be a volunteer interviewer at our application sessions for parents in October. At the end of November and beginning of December, volunteer shifts will be available in our distribution center (weekends, weekdays, and evenings).
