Winter Weather Advisory
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for DeKalb County from 5 p.m. tonight through 7 a.m. tomorrow, Jan. 17. It has also issued a wind chill advisory** from 9 p.m. tonight through 1 p.m. tomorrow. A winter weather advisory means that winter weather is expected and that residents should use caution. Light amounts of wintry precipitation or patchy blowing snow will cause slick conditions and could affect travel if precautions are not taken.
At this point, the City Commission will meet tonight as scheduled and the city will be open for regular business hours tomorrow. Updates will be posted here, decaturga.com and the city's official social media channels.

**A wind chill advisory means that cold air and the wind will combine to create low wind chills. Frost bite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken.
